Dr. Kevin Tyber was born and raised in Toronto.He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Waterloo in 1982 and graduated from the School of Optometry, also at the University of Waterloo, in 1986. After practicing for one year in Halifax, Nova Scotia, he returned to Ontario where he has provided patient care since 1987. Over nearly four decades in practice, Dr. Tyber has developed a particular interest in retinal health and age-related macular degeneration (AMD). He has continued to advance his professional education through post-doctoral training, including Ocular Therapeutics at Northeastern State University of Oklahoma, as well as advanced studies in ocular pathology and emerging eye care technologies. He has published articles in peer-reviewed journals in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom, including a literature review on nutritional supplements for AMD published in Annals of Pharmacotherapy. Dr. Tyber has also lectured extensively on ocular health and served as a consultant to organizations focused on vision and retinal care. He currently practices in Ajax, Ontario, as part of FYidoctors.
