Dr. Phil Hooper (MD, FRCSC) trained in Internal Medicine and Ophthalmology at Western University. Following this he did fellowships in Retina and Uveitis at the University of Southern California, and Washington University. He was Chair and Chief of Ophthalmology at Western from 1996 to 2008. Dr. Hooper was Editor-in-Chief of the Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology from 2008-2018. He served as Ophthalmology lead for the Ontario Wait Time Program from its inception until 2024 and is a past president of the Canadian Ophthalmological Society.
