Web Advisory Committee Minutes - June 21, 2023

The minutes of the May 17, 2023 Web Advisory Committee meeting were accepted as distributed.

• Universal Analytics will stop collecting data July 1, 2023 to transition to Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
• Google has already started auto-migrating accounts to GA4
• If you are using UA Tracking ID, a GA4 account will be created for you with some limitations
• It’s recommended that you use a local site property. Log in, create a property, copy GA4 ID, and paste into your WCMS site. The old code starts with UA- and new code starts with G-.
• For any technical questions, ask the WCMS training support; for best ways to utilize GA4, ask Tom
• Both WCMS 2 and WCMS 3 support the new attribute but scholar does not; codework is in development

Development update – Kevin Paxman

• WCMS 2.9.2. shipped; site managers can now assign the form editor role
• Issues: If you have created or edited events, please review dates and times to ensure they’re accurate; Investigating missing logins – you may log in end up somewhere you didn’t expect
• Presentation at DrupalCon was not recorded but slides are posted

Training and support update – Sarah Cooper

• A new WCMS 3 training course is now available in LEARN for anyone who hasn’t completed WCMS 3 Fundamentals; would count as your WCMS 3 training
• Additions: accessibility checks, tools, basics, layout, settings, how-to documents
• 20 people have already registered/completed
• Will be including a feedback form
• Coming soon: There will be a level two but only essentials is required. Level 2 will include higher level edits (eg. redirects)
• If you’re signing up for additional training, you don’t need a new training site. Please make a note that you already have a site in the registration email.

Migration update – Charlotte Armstrong

• 450 sites are now live in WCMS 3
• Remediated 33 sites and have 38 that are scheduled for the term until August 18
• 22 sites launched this term and 11 migrated sites are currently in RT
• 25 sites are remediated and waiting in Jira

• End of term pause starts August 18
