Amethyst artwork arrival

Installed in July of 2012, the newest piece in our Conestoga Rovers Learning Centre:

Amethyst artwork by artist Norm Couvrette of Rogue Metal Art, Tucson, Arizona, comprising of an amethyst geode mounted on metal artwork. We encourage visitors to have a photo taken with their face framed in amethyst from Rio Du Sol, Brazil.

Peter Russell thanks Shirley Chatten for the new exhibit which was supported by the special initiatives fund 2011 and UW Recreation Committee on behalf of UWaterloo employees.

Official gneiss monolith installation

Our large piece of gneiss that will span 3 levels when the new earth sciences building has been completed is officially installed! On December 1, it was placed in the foundations of the new "Centre for Environmental and Information Technology" building, where the museum will be located.
