Community outreach

Kids performing chemistry experiments at Discovery Square.

University of Waterloo Science Outreach provides programs and enrichment activities to increase awareness of the importance and value of Science to society. It also stands to highlight the contributions that UWaterloo Science makes to scientific understanding.

Teacher resources

The UWaterloo Science Outreach program is enthusiastic about supporting science teachers in expanding science literacy and understanding both in and out of the classroom. Because our students are mainly off-campus and we are unable to offer hands-on activities in classrooms, we are offering a limited selection for Spring 2021: four virtual workshops to middle school classes. Please see our Let's Talk Science site for more information and to register for a workshop. We encourage teachers to also look through our list of Science at Home online programming.

School-aged scientists

Do you have a natural curiosity and interest in understanding how things work? UWaterloo Science Outreach provides exciting opportunities to discover how science impacts the world around us, through programs, workshops, and events for scientists of all ages. Check out Science at Home, or play the Quarantrivia Game to test your COVID-19 knowledge!

General public

UWaterloo Science Outreach is passionate about making science and research an accessible and comprehensible topic for all interested audiences. Through events and public lectures, we provide numerous ways for you to engage in a lifelong discovery of science. Many of these events will be offered online this year. Receive invites by submitting your info to the Mailing List intake form.
