Science Graduate Student Association (SGSA)

The Science Graduate Student Association (SGSA) was founded in 2023 to provide a forum for all graduate students in the Faculty of Science and to enhance their academic and social experience. The SGSA also serves as a link for communication and collaboration between the six departmental Graduate Student Associations (dGSAs).

• Facilitate and strengthen communication and collaboration between the Science office, the University of Waterloo Graduate Student Association (GSA-UW), and the six Science dGSAs:
  • Biology Graduate Student Association (BGSA)
  • Chemistry Graduate Student Society (CGSS)
  • Earth Sciences Graduate Association (ESGA)
  • Physics Graduate Student Association (PhysGSA)
  • Graduates in Vision Science (GIVS)
  • Pharmacy Graduate Association (PhGA)
• Support and promote the activities and events of the six Science dGSAs
• Organize and lead activities and events for socializing, networking, and professional development for all Science graduate students
