Laura Scaife
Laura Scaife is a highly conscientious outreach educator and project coordinator with extensive experience working in diverse environments with persons of all ages, gender and culture. She is a workshop presenter for the non profit Scientists in School organization which extends science learning into the classroom and community by offering curriculum-based science workshops. Laura had the amazing opportunity as Interim Curator and Outreach coordinator for the Earth Science Museum at the University of Waterloo where she managed events, outreach programs, co-ordinated and delivered museum tours (children to seniors), created exhibits and prepared grant applications, business plans, budgets and proposals.  Early in her career as a geologist, she was involved with geological property research and consultations world wide.  Specific assignments included: Information Specialist of the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Mines technical library; establishing the Yemen Mineral Boards Geological Technical Library and; facilitating the Minister of Mines of Madagascar meetings with Canadian mining companies and exposition at the Prospectors and Developers annual convention in Toronto.
