Partner modes and bi-partite vs multi-partite entanglement

Ralf Schützhold, Universität Duisburg-Essen, Germany

The concept of partner modes reflects the entanglement in quantum field theory and is important for understanding open issues such as the black hole information puzzle.

After a formal definition of the partner mode, some examples such as moving mirror radiation as an analogue for black hole evaporation will be discussed in this talk.

Nevertheless, these partner modes do only reflect bi-partite entanglement. The generalization to multi-partite entanglement is far more complex and much less understood -- by means of a very simple example, this issue will also be addressed in this talk.
