Guanqun (Sunny) Li is a first-year PhD student in the School of Public Health Sciences at the University of Waterloo under the supervision of Professor Lili Liu. She is also a UK-registered occupational therapist and a member of Royal College of Occupational Therapists. Prior to beginning her PhD, Sunny worked as an occupational therapist at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in England.
Sunny's research interests include digital health technologies, occupational therapy practice, and dementia care. Drawing on her clinical background, Sunny aims to integrate an occupational therapy perspective into public health research and conduct meaningful research that brings practical benefits to patients, families and healthcare professionals.
Sunny completed her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Southampton, UK, in 2025 and her Bachelor of Science in Sports Rehabilitation at Nanjing Sport Institute, China, in 2022.
