Marria Khalid

Research Assistant

Headshot of Marria Khalid
Marria Khalid is a fourth-year Biomedical Sciences student at the University of Waterloo. She is currently a research assistant with the Aging and Innovation Research Program (AIRP). Khalid looks forward to expanding her knowledge about the aging, health, and wellbeing of older adults alongside her understanding of the use of technologies for assessing and managing the risk of going missing in persons living with dementia.

Through volunteering and working with seniors, she became interested in the aging population and her desire to work with older adults drove her to starting a chapter of the Brain Exercise Initiative at the University of Waterloo. She started this club in hopes of improving the cognitive behavior of seniors living with Alzheimer’s in the Waterloo community with the help of student volunteers.

Khalid looks forward to pursuing a graduate degree to prepare for a future in health following the completion of her bachelor’s degree.
