Vanessa Vahedi is a third-year Health Studies student at the University of Waterloo, she is currently completing a minor in Gerontology and a Health Research specialization. She is working as a research assistant at the Aging and Innovation Research Program (AIRP). Vanessa is passionate about fostering dementia-friendly communities; she is currently volunteering with the Alzheimer’s Society and she also facilitates recreational and cognitively stimulating programs at a long-term care home. Vahedi brings her past experiences as a research assistant for both the Geriatric Health Systems Research Group and the Neuroscience Mobility and Balance Lab, working with persons living with dementia, and her passion for building dementia-friendly communities to the AIRP research scene.
