Aliya McNeil is a PhD student in clinical psychology at the University of Waterloo. Aliya is interested in understanding whether fears of receiving compassion and expressing self-compassion explain why attachment insecurity is positively associated with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) symptom severity. She is also exploring how self-conscious emotions such as shame are related to fears of compassion and OCD symptoms.
