The Waterloo Artificial Intelligence Institute and the National Center for High Performance Computing of National Applied Research Laboratories in Taiwan recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This MOU will further collaborative research in a broad range of Artificial Intelligence technologies.
The National Center for High Performance Computing (NCHC) is a member of NARLabs, a group of 8 national laboratories supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology in Taiwan. NCHC is a high-performance computing and networking leader in Taiwan and provides national-scale compute, storage, and network infrastructure for the academic community in Taiwan.
Representatives from the National Center for High Performance Computing (NCHC), Taiwan Semiconductor Research Institute (TSRI), and the Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office in Canada were in attendance for the MOU signing, as well as Professors Fakhri Karray and Peter van Beek from the Waterloo Artificial Intelligence Institute, and John Thompson, Waterloo’s Senior Associate Vice President Research.
