University of Waterloo alumni Joshua Pope and Rowan Ferrabee are revolutionizing professional baseball with their startup, Trajekt Sports. Founded during their undergraduate studies, Trajekt developed the Trajekt Arc, a data-driven pitching simulator that replicates real pitcher mechanics using artificial intelligence and advanced physics. Originally conceived as a high school idea, the technology was refined with help from Waterloo’s Velocity incubator and support from professors and family. Unlike traditional pitching machines, the Trajekt Arc recreates pitch velocity, spin, and visuals, offering a hyper-realistic training experience for batters. Since securing the Chicago Cubs as their first client in 2021, the system has expanded to 30 pro teams globally. With 21 full-time employees, Trajekt continues to innovate, aiming to bring elite training tools to college athletes and recreational players alike.
