New executive program prepares senior technology leaders to bridge AI execution, business strategy and boardroom influence

The University of Waterloo has launched an AI Chief Technology Officer (AI CTO) Program to help leaders across sectors adopt and govern artificial intelligence responsibly and effectively. The program is aimed at executives, senior leaders, and technology professionals and focuses on strategic AI adoption, ethical and governance frameworks, and risk management to drive business transformation.

Participants will engage in expert-led workshops, case studies, and practical exercises designed to build the skills needed to lead AI initiatives and make informed decisions about AI technologies. The initiative reflects Waterloo’s commitment to bridging cutting-edge AI research with real-world leadership and governance challenges.
