Faculty and Staff: Access free online academic leadership resources through NCFDD
Faculty, academic staff and academic leaders at the University of Waterloo have access to a suite of high-quality online leadership resources—at no cost—through the University’s institutional membership with the National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity (NCFDD).
By activating your membership using your Waterloo email address, you can explore an extensive collection of self-paced modules, research-informed leadership tools, and live virtual webinars designed to support academic growth and success. The NCFDD platform offers guidance for scholars at all stages, with resources tailored to strengthening leadership skills, navigating academic roles, and fostering inclusive, productive research and teaching environments. Among the many offerings, two programs may be of particular interest to academic leaders:
-
Faculty Success Program – Support for building sustainable writing practices, managing academic workloads, and developing long-term career strategies.
-
Chair Success Program – Specialized training for department chairs and academic administrators seeking effective approaches to leadership, communication, and team management.
These resources are available to all Waterloo faculty and academic staff once they activate their NCFDD membership. We encourage campus members to share this opportunity widely with colleagues who may not be aware of the institutional license.
