As of February 2, 2026, the PRT system has begun rolling out invitations to faculty to participate in the soft launch of the University of Waterloo's Peer Review of Teaching (PRT) process. You can read more about UW PRT and the soft launch on the pages linked below:
Participation in the UW PRT is fully optional. Faculty members who participated in 2025 have told us that the experience contributed positively to their teaching practice, and their feedback is actively shaping this new process. Any PRT Reports produced as part of the UW PRT soft launch may only be used in merit, tenure/permanence, or promotion decisions at the discretion of the faculty member whose teaching was reviewed.
