The WCA-KPL Astronomy Talk series takes place on the last Wednesday of each month, and is jointly organized by the Waterloo Centre for Astrophysics and KPL.
Despite black holes recently being observed for the first time, they remain some of the most mysterious objects in our Universe. Join us this month to hear Dr. Niayesh Afshordi speak about how black holes are still making us question the nature of time, gravity, and the very dawn of our Universe.
Niayesh Afshordi is an astrophysicist and faculty member of both the Waterloo Centre for Astrophysics and the Perimeter Institute. His research covers a huge range of topics in astrophysics and cosmology, from dark energy and dark matter to gravity and black holes, as well as branching into other areas such as epidemiology.
Attendance is free and open to anyone, although we request that you register in advance.
