"Towards Population-level Exo-Geology: Characterizing the Surfaces, Atmospheres, and Reflective Properties of Hot Rocky Exoplanets"

Brandon Park Coy is a final year PhD student at the University of Chicago’s Department of the Geophysical Sciences.  His research mainly focuses on observations and modelling of small exoplanets’ atmospheres and surfaces with a focus on ‘exo-geology'.  He is interested in determining what observations of rocky exoplanets' surfaces can tell us about the geologic history of planets orbiting other stars. 

Dr. Chloe Cheng is a Research Excellence Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto.  Her research focuses on understanding galaxy formation and evolution across a range of physical scales. She uses spectroscopy and full-spectrum stellar population modelling to characterize the stellar initial mass function (IMF), elemental abundances, and formation histories of galaxies, with much of her recent work focused on massive, quiescent galaxies at cosmic noon.
