The Waterloo Centre for Astrophysics has assembled a global team of graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and researchers, all driven by the need to explore the mysteries of the universe and lead the world in astrophysics discovery. Public outreach and education is a cornerstone of our Centre, allowing us to share the wonders of the universe with you as they are uncovered.
Gifts that benefit the Centre for Astrophysics are channelled straight back into the community. Our outreach program benefits all but is especially dedicated towards school children and underrepresented minorities in STEM. We take our inflatable planetarium, the AstroBubble, into schools and do events for girls-only youth groups. We run monthly talks at the Kitchener Public Library and bi-monthly informal talks at Astronomy on Tap at the Crazy Canuck, Kitchener. All these events are free for attendees and are supported by your donation.
