How to Add and Translate Forms for Multi-language Support
Translate forms into multiple languages to let customers raise requests in their preferred language, whether your project is team-managed or company-managed. If a customer's preferred language isn’t available, they'll see the form in its original language.
Adding Languages
To add a language for translations:
- Open the form builder and go to the Translate tab.
- If there are no translations yet, click Add languages and choose the languages you want to add.
- If translations already exist, click Add languages in the navigation on the left under the existing languages.
Remember, customers won't see the new languages until the translations are reviewed and the Available to customers toggle is enabled. This ensures that incomplete or incorrect forms aren’t shown to customers.
Translating Forms
To translate a form into a new language:
- In the form builder, select the Translate tab.
- Choose the language you want to update or click Add language to select a new one.
- Each language will display its translation status, showing either how many translations are left or if translations are complete.
- Select a field or element on the form and enter the translation in the panel on the right. Continue this process until all translations are complete.
- Fields with an orange dot indicate missing translations.
- Once translations are finished, enable the Available to customers toggle to make the language accessible to customers.
If a warning symbol appears, the language won't be available on the portal until it is enabled in Language support. Learn more about adding languages to the portal in Language support.
Note: Choice fields linked to Jira fields or data connections cannot be translated at this time.
Removing Languages
To remove a language:
- In the form builder, go to the Translate tab.
- Click the trash icon next to the language you want to remove.
Once removed, the translations for that language will be deleted, and you will need to redo them if you decide to add the language again later.
