Feature Spotlight: Add Boards & Calendars Directly to JSM Queues!
Big news for Jira Service Management users! Atlassian has introduced a powerful update: you can now add Boards and Calendars directly to your queues โ not just to the project view. This gives support teams even more control and visibility right where the work happens.
๐ Whatโs New?
Traditionally, visualizations like boards and calendars were only available at the project level. Now, when you're inside a queue, look at the top near the "List" view. Youโll see a โ (plus sign) โ click it, and you can now add:
-
โ Board View
-
๐ Calendar View
This makes it easier to switch between different visual formats of your tickets without leaving the queue.
๐ฏ Why This Matters
This is more than a cosmetic change โ it enhances real-time decision-making:
-
Board View: Great for workflow visualization (To Do โ In Progress โ Done).
-
Calendar View: Perfect for date-based planning (e.g., SLAs, due dates).
-
Less context switching: Stay inside your queue and manage tasks more fluidly.
๐ ๏ธ How to Use It
-
Open any JSMย Queue.
-
At the top, next to โList,โ click the โ icon.
-
Choose either Board or Calendar.
-
Customize the view based on your team's needs โ filter by priority, status, assignee, etc.

๐ก Pro Tip
Each queue can have its own unique views, tailored to different teams, workflows, or issue types. That means you can build dashboards per queue โ for example, one team might prefer boards, another might need calendar-based SLAs.
