What's new in Atlassian: New Request Type Templates for Team-Managed Projects

The time-saving benefits of request type templates, previously available only in company-managed projects, are now available for team-managed projects (TMPs).

Instead of creating new request types from scratch, you can now choose from a library of templates designed for various teams and use cases. Select a template, then edit it to fit your needs.

These templates are perfect for Jira admins new to Jira Service Management, those looking to maintain consistency across projects, or anyone wanting to customize their projects as needs change.

How to Create a New Request Type Using a Template:

1. Go to Project settings in the left navigation.
2. Select Request types.
3. At the bottom of your request types list, click Add request type, then Create from template.
4. Browse, search, and preview the templates.
5. Select the template you want.
6. Review and update the request type’s name, description, and icon.
7. Click Save.
