Environmental quality plays an important role in children’s health and cognition in their development stage. This project will use a random assignment control experiment to study how air purifiers improve indoor air quality in classrooms in elementary schools, and may help improve health, cognitive and non-cognitive abilities of students.
This project has two goals: academic goal and policy goal. First, academically, this project will be the first to evaluate the benefits of indoor air quality on cognitive and non-cognitive ability of children. Second, this project will provide policy advices on education policy and environmental policy to the government to improve educational outcomes of students.
