Do you know that banner images can be added to any page, anywhere on the page? In the previous iteration of WCMS, banner images could only be added to the top of the home page, and were fittingly called "home page banners". You could add images to any page, but regular images are different than banner images!
Banners can rotate through multiple images. They also allow users to add text, captions and links on them that are University of Waterloo themed. Regular images do not have these functions. If you want to add text to a regular image, you’d have to accomplish that with outside means, like using a photo editor, which is not the best for accessibility or for readability at multiple screen sizes. Banner images are great visuals to add to your pages, and they can provide a nicer format for images and text. The image below is a banner image!
