How to remediate Web Forms

Remediate missing Web form Preamble

Note: The Information and Privacy statement that appears at the top of WCMS Web forms does not need to be remediated in WCMS 3.

  1. From the administration bar in WCMS 3, select Workbench, and then select My Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to the Content List panel and select the page with the Web form you wish to remediate.

  3. Select the Layout tab. 
  4. Select + Add block.
  5. From the Choose a block list on the right, select Copy text
  6. Manually copy and paste text from the original WCMS 2 Web form into the new copy text block in WCMS 3. 
    1. Copy the desired text from the original WCMS 2 page. 
    2. Paste the text into a text editor application to remove formatting. Notepad (Windows) or TextEdit (MacOS) are both viable options. 
    3. Copy the unformatted text from the text editor application and paste it into the WCMS 3 page. 
    4. Re-add any formatting, links etc. to replicate the WCMS 2 text.
  7. Select Add block (or Update, if it is a pre-existing block).
  8. Select Save layout.

Remediate missing "number" fields on the Web form

  1. From the administration bar, select Workbench, then select My Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to the Forms list
  3. Select the Web form you would like to add an element to. 
  4. Under the Operations column of that Web form, select Build.
  5. Select + Add element next to the section you wish to remediate.

  6. Under Advanced Elements, select Add element next to Number.
  7. Recreate the missing field and select Save.
  8. For multiple missing fields, repeat steps 5-7 until all fields have been recreated.
  9. Rearrange the order of the form components by dragging and dropping the component by the cross-arrows, to ensure the alignment of the forms match.
  10. Select Save elements.

Remediate authenticated submission access

  1. From the administration bar in WCMS 3, select Workbench, then select My Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to the Forms list and select the web form you wish to remediate.
  3. From the Settings tab, select Access.
  4. Under Create submissions, choose who can view and submit the form and ensure parity with the WCMS 2 web form settings.
    • The authenticated user checkbox from WCMS 2 is now the Users who are logged in radio button in WCMS 3.
  5. Once complete, Save your changes.

Some web forms use the element called “markup” in WCMS 2. In WCMS 3, they are migrated as “Advanced HTML Markup” and will not display on the form.

  • The warning reads: "Will not be rendered".
  • To avoid this issue, create new basic HTML markup elements and copy and paste the text from the advanced element into the basic element.
