TRENDI MOBILE STREAMING FOR FASHION COMMERCE

Have you ever returned clothes purchased online because they didn’t fit well? If so, you’ve contributed to the $40 billion worth of apparel & footwear returns each year. trendi is a mobile application that aims to reduce returns by combining the convenience of online shopping with the information gained from physical try-ons. Users view streams hosted by people with similar body measurements to their own. As hosts try on and discuss products, viewers vicariously obtain the information they need to make informed purchase decisions.

PREDICTIVE MODELLING FOR ONEHSN

OneHSN is an organization, which helps guardians find childcare services for their wards by combining applications for multiple locations in their geographic region. To ease the stress of uncertainty after applying for competitive services, our module predicts the wait-time between application and being awarded a placement with a service provider. This will assist guardians in planning for the future both in terms of interim services and financial commitments. Our baseline model provides predictions, which can be further expanded to new locations as needed.

DE SOUZA SMART SCHEDULING TOOL

De Souza Institute is an online education institution for healthcare professionals. De Souza’s aim is to find optimal ways of scheduling courses to increase profit, creating the need for the Smart Scheduling Tool. Our solution aims to leverage the company’s historical data and conduct predictive analysis to capture future performances. These findings are then used to schedule courses that satisfy future demands and constraints, optimizing the course scheduling process.

TJX CANADA MERCHANDISE COMPARISON TOOL

TJXC, Canada’s largest off-price retailer, advertises a discount of 20-60% on items compared to other big-box retailers and are legally obligated to validate this mandate. There are over 200 merchants who prepare monthly reports comparing prices across different retailers for regulatory audits. Their current process for collecting, aggregating and analyzing data is non-standardized and time-intensive. compr is an end-to-end application developed to streamline data collection, maintain transparency and provide actionable insights.

TESTTOAD

With TestToad, the goal is to develop a platform that can facilitate the process of organizing the in-person meet-up of usability testers and organizers. When looking for testers, organizers will be able to specify the desired demographic that is required to test out their products in-person. TestToad will also have functionality to support the scheduling of a test and facilitate the payment transactions that will occur between tester and organizer.

MEALS ON WHEELS: WHEELS FOR WELLNESS SCHEDULING SYSTEM

Meals on Wheels London is a non-profit organization that matches volunteers with seniors and adults with disabilities to provide meal delivery and transportation services while combating social isolation. Meals on Wheels’ program, Wheels for Wellness, offers clients round-trip transportation to their health appointments. The current volunteer scheduling process is manually completed and is costly for both time and resources. The solution uses an assignment model to generate a transportation schedule that improves the efficiency of service planning through an end-to-end system that satisfies organizational goals.

Canada is a diverse country that is comprised of many different cultures. It is important for Canadians to stay connected to their roots. CultureMe connects service providers to individuals seeking cultural services. The application allows service providers to showcase their portfolio and effectively outreach to potential clients. Through an optimized search engine, the platform aims to help people find the most relevant service with ease. Currently, the application caters to the South Asian community with a scope of expansion in the future.

MAXIMIZING SHOPPERS' REWARDS FROM THEIR CREDIT CARDS

In Canada, 82% of credit card holders select their cards based on the rewards offered, but struggle with how to use them in order to maximize their rewards. An optimization model has been created to inform credit card holders on how to make future purchases smarter. An analysis of past purchases will be conducted in conjunction with an optimization model to compare against rewards that have been redeemed. The tool will allow users to find the optimal strategy to maximize their credit card rewards.

TIER BASED RECOMMENDATION ENGINE FOR DE SOUZA INSTITUTE

De Souza institute provides online courses for health professionals that are specializing in the care of cancer patients. They want to enhance their client interaction with their product and increase their revenue by improving their customer retention. We provide a course recommendation engine using pattern recognition and statistical learning to increase client engagement by encouraging each individual client to take courses customized to their customer journey.

OPTIMAL RE-ALLOCATION OF P&D MACHINES FOR TPA

Toronto Parking Authority (TPA) is the largest operator of municipal parking in Canada. Since the launch of their mobile-pay app in 2016, TPA has seen a drastic increase in mobile payments compared to parking meter payments. TPA aims to reduce parking meter costs by removing parking meters throughout Toronto while ensuring customer satisfaction. Our solution is a cost reduction optimization model for TPA that suggests the optimal number of parking meters & mobile-pay signs based on mobile and machine transactions.

FLIGHT DISPATCHER WORKLOAD AND SCHEDULING APPLICATION FOR AIR CANADA

This workload scheduling application will help Air Canada flight dispatchers automate the assignment of flights to operations centre workstations (“desks”) and schedule work shifts for flight dispatchers for a year-long period. This task has historically been a tedious process that must be done manually by senior employees, stealing valuable time from their other duties and relying on individual skills honed over years of practice. This application will provide a more robust method of assigning flights to desks while adhering to union requirements for work shifts.

EAAT - ENGINEERING ACCREDITATION ANALYSIS TOOL

Engineers Canada evaluates Canadian undergraduate engineering programs based on twelve Graduate Attributes for the purpose of accreditation. The Management Sciences department is steadily collecting course and student data for continuous improvement and program accreditation purposes. Soon they will outgrow their current tools and processes. EAAT looks to replace the current MS Excel based system with a secure database with analytical capabilities and a data visualization tool to streamline the accreditation reporting process and to allow the department to spot areas of improvement for program development.

CARAVAN – A SOCIAL READING COMPANION

Now, you’ve got a community on every page. 

METRX  REPORTING SYSTEM

The introduction of IIoT and smart manufacturing plants has led to increasingly available manufacturing data. Using standard manufacturing measures like Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), this data can be used to inform better investment decisions. MetrX is a platform that addresses this burgeoning market for analysis and visualization by allowing clients to analyze OEE and make data-backed decisions. The solution provides dashboards with graphical visualizations of KPIs and metrics, depicting data collected and stored on a cloud-hosted system.

In 2019 more people than ever are looking to transform their lives and become healthier, happier versions of themselves. Stepping into a gym can be intimidating and often times overwhelming. Which exercises are best for me? How can I ensure I reach my long term goals? GYMY is a user centric application which looks to tackle these problems by assisting users to build their own workouts that correspond to their fitness needs, as well as incorporating sport psychology principles to keep users motivated.
