IC3 member Jason Thistlethwaite joins CBC host Laura Lynch on the new CBC Radio podcast What on Earth. In the episode "Will climate change make us retreat from the waterfront?" Jason shares his expertise on flood risk management in Canada. He discusses opportunities for government policies and management strategies to address climate change. Thistlethwaite also stresses the need for Canada to develop a stronger public policy response to climate change risks and flood risk.

"Taxpayers are starting to see what's going on here and they simply aren't willing to continue paying to rebuild in high-risk flood areas, so the solution is you try to give people the option of leaving or relocating to a safer area" Jason Thistlethwaite

Jason Thistlethwaite is an Associate Professor in the School of Environment, Enterprise and Development (SEED) at the University of Waterloo and an expert on the economic effects of climate change and extreme weather.
