For those of you who enjoy the outdoors this is a wonderful opportunity to step outside of your virtual world and step into a real-life ecological experience.  The North Campus Community Gardens is founded on the principle of growing your own food sustainably and providing habitat for a variety of species.  The work events will focus on expanding our perennial hedge, which is composed of perennials, such as Rhubarb, Chives, and Oregano, intermixed with a variety of annuals such as garlic, onions, and cabbage. The purpose of developing a perennial hedge is to give back to mother nature by allowing pollinators and other species habitat to overwinter in, while providing us with food and a sense of aesthetics. Hedges are very colourful when in full bloom.
