Weather & Society study group meeting

All are welcome to join the next Weather and Society study group meeting on Monday, November 17th from 11:30-12:30 in EV1-221.

Refreshments will be served. 

The agenda for this meeting includes an overview of the recent World Weather Open Science Conference in Montreal this last August, as well as a discussion about data collection, mining, and management for weather-related research in the social and interdisciplinary sciences.

CIGI Cinema Series: "The Island President"

The Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) is hosting a screening of the 2011 award-winning documentary, The Island President. Focusing on then-president of the Maldives, Mohamed Nasheed, the film documents his efforts to confront the issue and effects of climate change on the world stage, driven by the rising sea levels that put the island nation at risk.

David Estrin, CIGI Senior Research Fellow with the International Law Research Program will introduce the film.
