All are welcome to join the next Weather and Society study group meeting on Monday, November 17th from 11:30-12:30 in EV1-221.
Refreshments will be served.
The agenda for this meeting includes an overview of the recent World Weather Open Science Conference in Montreal this last August, as well as a discussion about data collection, mining, and management for weather-related research in the social and interdisciplinary sciences.
What is the Weather and Society study group?
The Weather and Society study group meets several times per term to discuss significant weather events, current and future research projects, and upcoming opportunities for members. They also produce the Canadian Weather & Society Advisor - a newsletter intended to share ideas, questions, opinions, stories, research, and experiences with a broader Canadian audience. For more information on the Weather and Society study group, please contact Amber Silver at a2silver@uwaterloo.ca.
