Biography
Arfa Aijazi is a faculty member in the School of Architecture and the Architectural Engineering program at the University of Waterloo. Her research focuses on climate change adaptation and resilience in architectural design, particularly concerning extreme temperatures. Arfa’s work addresses the challenge of extreme heat, projected to affect 75% of the global population by 2100, through innovative architectural design, building retrofits, and technological advancements. Her research integrates machine learning, laboratory experiments, and building performance simulations to advance sustainable building design and climate resilience.
