Deep Space Food Challenge semi-finalists
Profs. Abukhdeir and Ward are among 10 semi-finalists in the Canadian edition of the CSA Deep Space Food Challenge, winning $30,000 for a proposed algae rack system that minimizes water and energy use while cultivating nutritious microalgae for astronaut food production.
