Research Project

My PhD project is titled "Space-time hybridizable discontinuous Galerkin methods for free-surface wave problems".  In these problems, the computational domain depends on the position of the free-surface which has to be computed at each time step.  The goal of my project is to apply a combination of space-time hybridizable and embedded discontinuous Galerkin methods which will allow to easily handle the deforming domain while satisfying conservation properties, and also to obtain a continuous wave height which has proven to be fundamental for the stability properties of the numerical method.
