Quantum Safe Technologies Initiative
You are warmly invited to attend a virtual information session and researcher roundtable for the National Research Council of Canada (NRC)’s new Quantum Safe Technologies Initiative, which will launch in April 2026. Join us on Thursday, March 26 (noon – 1:30 p.m.) to learn more about the Initiative and connect with colleagues from the University of Waterloo and NRC. This meeting is supported by the NRC-Waterloo Collaboration Centre.
Advances in quantum computing pose new cybersecurity challenges for Canada across key sectors such as national defence, financial services, communication networks, health and transportation infrastructure. The Quantum Safe Technologies (QST) Initiative will support the development and implementation of new approaches and applications to protect critical systems against quantum-enabled attacks, while also fostering collaboration and training opportunities to strengthen national capacity and expertise.
Session format
Led by Dr. Koray Karabina (Director, Quantum Safe Technologies Initiative), this meeting will begin with an information session to introduce the Initiative’s goals and research directions. There will then be an informal roundtable to connect researchers from NRC and the University of Waterloo and explore avenues for collaboration specific to the call. Each participant will have the opportunity to briefly introduce their work in the area. Participation in the roundtable is optional. Please indicate your interest when completing the registration form below.
