Arts professor named Trudeau Foundation Fellow

Aimée Morrison, associate professor of English Language and Literature, has been named a 2019 Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation Fellow.

Professor Morrison’s research examines social media practices by everyday users as forms of life writing often turned to social justice, identity, or community goals. Participating in about 50 media interviews per year, and with a robust social media following of her own, Morrison is a go-to expert in Canada on the impacts of social media and computer technologies.

The Trudeau Foundation Fellowships are awarded to accomplished scholars in the humanities and social sciences. Fellows receive up to $50,000 per year over a three-year term, plus travel funds, to support their research and promote scholarly engagement and collaboration within the Trudeau Foundation community of Scholars, Fellows, and Mentors.
