Monday, December 10, 2018

The University of Waterloo is one of the forces behind Canada’s largest Artificial Intelligence (AI) competition.

In partnership with Communitech, the Schulich Foundation, and Leaders Fund, the new Leaders Prize at True North national competition will provide $1-million to a team that solves a problem of global significance using AI.

The problem statement will be announced at the True North Conference in June 2019. Applicants will have one year to solve the challenge problem and the winner will be announced at the True North Conference in 2020.

The solutions developed through this competition should provide the foundation for a new product or company that will possess a distinctive edge in the marketplace. Individuals or groups can register at leadersprize.truenorthwaterloo.com, provided they reside in Canada.
