Quantum cryptography tools part 1: Two-party cryptography and protocol composition, session 1

Friday, June 13, 2025 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm EDT (GMT -04:00)

Workshop: Quantum cryptography tools part 1: Two-party cryptography and protocol composition

Date and time: Friday June 13, 1–3pm (slight change from 1-4pm previously posted)

Location: QNC 1201

Instructor: Ernest Tan

Session 1 of 2. Second session on June 20.

In these lecture sessions, we will cover a brief introductory presentation to quantum protocols for a few cryptographic primitives such as coin flipping, bit commitment, and oblivious transfer, which can achieve results that are impossible for classical protocols. We will also discuss considerations regarding protocol composition, i.e. whether these primitives can be "safely" used as part of a larger protocol - this lays the groundwork for subsequent sessions discussing quantum key distribution.

Please register while seating is available.
