Clark Dickerson, Nick LaDelfa and Rachel Whittaker at the Association of Canadian Ergonomists Conference

A few members of the DIESEL team are heading to Niagara Falls, Ontario this week for the 2016 Association of Canadian Ergonomists (ACE) Conference! The annual conference brings together biomechanists, members of industry, and professional ergonomists from across Canada to discuss and present research on the physical, cognitive, behavioural, psychosocial, and organizational aspects of human factors and ergonomics.

Both Rachel Whittaker and Nicholas La Delfa have podium presentations to discuss their research findings; Rachel's research "Fatigue time histories of selected rotator cuff muscles in individuals with short or long endurance times during a repetitive task" is in the running for the Julien M Christensen Masters Award, while Nick is presenting research entitled "Maximum pushing and pulling forces are reduced when posture and off axis forces are constrained". Nick is also presenting some of the findings of his PhD research in a separate presentation.

A former undergraduate student is also presenting her research in a podium presentation. Kimberley Hogervorst studied "Muscular demands associated with four manual pallet wrapping techniques" during her time with us in 2015/2016.

Professor Clark Dickerson also played a key role in this year's ACE conference, serving as a co-Technical chair along with Professor Jack Callaghan.

Good luck to everyone presenting and enjoy the conference!
