Three doctoral theses completed

Friday, May 1, 2026

Hang Yu, Jin Gyu Lim and Mehran Hazer Sahlabadi completed their doctorates in 2026, on load-variation-resilient power amplifiers, advanced massive MIMO transmitters, and beamforming front-end circuits and systems. All three theses are available in UWSpace.

Hang Yu worked on load-variation-resilient power amplifiers with enhanced average efficiency for 5G and 6G beamforming systems. Jin Gyu Lim worked on the design, testing and analysis of advanced massive MIMO transmitters. Mehran Hazer Sahlabadi worked on circuit and system techniques for high-performance beamforming front ends.

The three theses

  • H. Yu, “Load Variation Resilient and Average Efficiency Enhanced Power Amplifiers for 5G/6G Beamforming System,” University of Waterloo, May 2026.
  • J. G. Lim, “Design, Testing, and Analysis of Advanced Massive MIMO Transmitters,” University of Waterloo, May 2026.
  • M. Hazer Sahlabadi, “Advanced Circuit and System Techniques for High-Performance Beamforming Front-Ends,” University of Waterloo, May 2026.

All three are listed under 2026 on the Publications page, and the graduates appear on Past graduates and affiliates.
