Shefaza Esmail is a term lecturer in the School of Environment, Sustainability, and Resources. She recently completed her PhD under the supervision of Dr. Maren Oelbermann, focusing on the diversion of organic waste and the use of compost to improve soil management in Tanzanian urban agriculture. She has taught courses on ecological restoration and ecosystem assessment and is a proponent for student-centred active and experiential learning.
