Jill earned her Master of Science degree from the School of Public Health and Health Systems at the University of Waterloo (UW) in February 2015 under the supervision of Dr. Tyas. Jill’s research interests are very broad and include lifespan risk factors of dementia, healthy aging, and improving quality of life in older adulthood up to the end of life in the face of challenges such as frailty and cognitive decline. Since graduation, she has been working as a research assistant collecting data and then as project manager/data analyst on the Making the Most of Mealtimes (M3) study, a program to investigate food intake and mealtime experience in long-term care lead by Dr. Heather Keller (Kinesiology, UW). Jill commences doctoral studies in the Aging, Health and Well-being program through the Kinesiology department at UW in September 2017. Jill is grateful for her MSc experience and is looking forward to applying the research skills she has developed to investigate end-of-life care practices in long-term care facilities across Canada.
