Quantum Today: Unlocking high-dimensional quantum optics

Join us for Quantum Today, where we sit down with researchers from the University of Waterloo’s Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC) to talk about their work, its impact and where their research may lead.

This month, IQC PhD students Andrew Cameron and Connor Kapahi will discuss their recent collaboration, in which they use hybrid quantum entanglement to remotely control the shape and structure of a single photon. TEDxUW

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx.

TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxUW, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxUW, TED Talks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

Our theme this year is 2020 Vision.

In the Decolonizing Methodologies for Sustainability Research Speaker Series, researchers from across Canada and the globe share their unique approaches to decolonizing research, and how they conduct research that is inclusive, mindful of local cultural practices, and sensitive to diverse research contexts.
