The CGEC brings together eight of Canada’s top universities – University of Toronto, Toronto Metropolitan University, York University, McMaster University, Queen’s University, University of British Columbia, and Waterloo – working together to address the urgent need for qualified engineers who can solve today’s most complex technical, social and environmental challenges.

Join the WCC in the GSA lounge to make progress revising your doctoral CIHR, NSERC, or SSHRC scholarship research proposal! We'll start with some brief general advice from the WCC on structuring and revising your proposal. Then you'll have an opportunity to apply that advice and get individualized feedback from WCC staff and other applicants in a workshopping and peer review session. Work alongside other graduate students in a supportive environment as you draft and revise your proposal.

We'll have WCC staff standing by to offer feedback and answer questions about your research proposal document as you work!

Please bring a copy of your research proposal in progress with you, along with anything else you will need to work on it (e.g. a laptop).

Learn how expectations at university differ from those in high school and find out about the many resources available to you.  Attend all three workshops or choose what interests you most.

• 4:45-5:30  PM Using GenAI productively and ethically in university writing 

Build confidence in academic speaking and writing through our free workshop series designed specifically for international and multilingual undergraduate students.  What you'll get:

• Interactive practice in a supportive environment 
• Peer learning with students who share similar experiences 
• Certificate of completion (attend all 5 sessions)

Looking for a writing community? Grab a coffee and get writing! Join our network of graduate student writers at the in-person Writing Café! Meet other writers, stay on track, and make progress in your work. Writing doesn’t have to be solitary!

Waterloo Tech Week is a celebration of what's been built here, and what's still to come. We're bringing together builders from all over to share their experiences with others - creating a way for anyone to connect with the people, ideas, and values that define this community. Cornerstone is Velocity's two week sprint for students and researchers from any faculty who want to explore an idea they have or even just an area of interest with a supportive community.
