Quantum for Environment Launch Event

On June 6, TQT will host a Quantum for Environment (Q4Environment) Launch Event in the Mike and Ophelia Lazaridis Quantum-Nano Centre Rm 0101. This event will include a series of short talks that will feature ideas for where quantum may impact the environment. Following the presentations, all event participants will be invited to meet and explore ideas in an active workshop-style setting.

Please register your attendance by May 30 (for refreshment planning purposes). There will be limited onsite registration at the event.

A Discussion on Indigenous Research and Epistemology

How should we conduct research in cooperation and partnership with Indigenous communities? What does it mean for Indigenous scholars and students to do research within the colonial structures and settler epistemologies of Western universities? The panelists, consisting of Indigenous students and researchers as well as settlers working with and for Indigenous communities, will share their perspectives and experiences on these questions.

As part of the Water Institute's Webinar Series: The Value of Water in Canada, Pascal Badiou, Research Scientist, Ducks Unlimited Canada presents: Valuation of wetlands in agricultural landscapes of Canada.

Dr. Bird presents the importance of teaching the history of Indigenous representation in games and will break down various examples from Custer’s Revenge to the Mortal Kombat and Red Dead Redemption series to demonstrate these types of gamic language.
