Mindfulness @ Work workshop for staff
Dr. Ellen Choi, Assistant Professor, Toronto Metropolitan University, will lead this 90-minute workshop (in-person and online) on a mindfulness-based approach to leadership. The workshop is open to all University of Waterloo staff.
During this research-based approach to mindfulness and wellbeing at work, participants will learn about mindfulness concepts, the science behind the practice, and experience traditional mindfulness practices along with several short mental techniques that support the underlying facets of attentional control and emotion regulation. Participants will also be introduced to the self-awareness, self-regulation, and self-transcendence model of mindfulness, which will be applied to leadership so participants can see how paying mind to oneself enables the capacity to lead others.
