As part of the Water Institute's WaterLeadership training series, the Water Institute, presents, "Evolution of Science Communications” with special guest, David Janzen, Lecturer from the Department of Communication Arts.

On key issues, including climate and environmental change, publics often disagree sharply with scientific experts. Why is this the case and how can we address this through better communication practices? Such questions motivate new research in science communication.

This session introduces three models of science communication and provides an overview of the strengths and weaknesses of each. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how science communication succeeds (and fails), as well as a strategic set of tools for communicating scientific information more effectively.
