On April 3, 2024, the University of Waterloo will embark on a bold new mission to create healthier, more prosperous cities with the launch of the Future Cities Institute founded by CAIVAN. Join Frank Cairo, Co-Founder and CEO of Caivan and Vivek Goel, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Waterloo for this special event, including an armchair chat.

We invite you to join us on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 for our annual Desmarais Family Summit. The Summit is an interactive exhibition that gives our Global Engagement students the unique opportunity to share their research projects on this year’s theme, “Me and my Robot.”

Eight student-led teams will pitch to a panel of judges in hopes of winning their share of $20,000 for their ambitious idea! The finalists will take the stage on April 4th in the Theatre of the Arts, Modern Languages Building at 12 – 2:30 pm. Doors open at 11:30 am. Lunch provided.

As part of the Water Institute's WaterLeadership training series, the Water Institute, presents, "Innovation Leadership Skills” with special guest, Karen Kun, Director and Co-founder of Waterlution. In this interactive module, participants will discover what makes them an asset to the water sector, while learning to recognize and appreciate the abilities of others. You will learn to how improve your communication and teambuilding skills through a variety of fun and effective tools that identifies strengths and further develops leadership and innovation competencies.
