SEE Canada Grant information session
The 2026/27 Staff Enhancement Experience (SEE) Canada grant supports professional development by funding short-term national travel for staff to learn from peers at other Canadian institutions and bring new insights back to Waterloo. Up to five proposals are selected each year, and staff can attend an upcoming HR info session to learn more and explore applying.
Clara Hughes: Open Heart, Open Mind - Hallman Lecture
Clara Hughes, a six-time Olympic medalist and mental health advocate, shares her candid experience living with depression to inspire others to face their fears and find their voice. As the founding spokesperson for Bell Let's Talk, she explores the power of movement to change lives and emphasizes the importance of deep connection with oneself and others.
Seedling Swap
People who have excess seedlings (whether grown themselves or acquired elsewhere) can swap for other seedlings, or simply donate them. Those who are interested in getting seedlings but do not have seedlings to trade can bring a non-perishable food item as payment during the swap. The donated food will be given to WUSA’s Food Support Service. Any leftover seedlings will be donated to a community organization.

The Life and Legacy of the Athabasca Glacier Exhibit
The Life and Legacy of the Athabasca Glacier is an interactive exhibit that tells the story of one of Canada’s most iconic and rapidly disappearing glaciers. This series of art installations invites the audience to experience and reflect on the glacier’s fragile beauty and its role in our shared future.
Elise Popa: A Fallow Year
A Fallow Year tells the story of Popa’s own fallow season, encapsulated through an intuitive skating practice and the building of an ice rink on a farm just outside Stratford, Ontario.
James Malzahn: The Victory Box
The Victory Box examines how powerful systems enter everyday life by appearing useful, convenient, entertaining, and reassuring. Presented as a modern domestic device for safety and public information, it carries the appeal of something new: a media object families could watch, gather around, and feel proud to own.
