Dr. Hamid Jahed is professor, Associate Chair Graduate Studies, and Director of Fatigue and Stress Analysis Laboratory in the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering of the University of Waterloo. His research activities are on characterization and modeling of lightweight materials behavior under cyclic loading, and the development of robust methods in cyclic plasticity analysis.
He has received a number of awards including the most recent Faculty of Engineering and Sandford Fleming Foundation Teaching Excellence Award. Dr. Jahed has over 100 scientific publications in refereed journals and international conferences. He has supervised 32 HQP’s, and is currently supervising 10 others. His research is currently funded by different funding agencies including NSERC, NSERC APC, ORF, AUTO21, IAMI.
